that is such a great way to get your produce, and it is fun to think of things to cook on the fly with whatever you get. i belonged to a CSA program in brooklyn for awhile, and i really wish i could find something like that here in sydney, but i don't think it exists.

We are so alike! I get an organic box delivered too and it's like having a birthday every week! I love the challenge of mystery ingredients...

To answer your asparagus question - I've got a lovely poached salmon salad on my site which makes good use of fresh asparagus.

Here's a link: http://www.figandcherry.com/recipes/thank-goodness-for-spring-asparagus/

What a cool service! I am with the very proletariat Terra Firma Farm in Winters and I have to drive to the next town to pick it up... hmmm, in regards to sustainability, many cars driving to the pickup spot versus one truck driving to many spots to deliver... Also, nice that you can specify what you like and don't like. Jeez, maybe I should check these guys out.

If you get another shipment of asparagus, you can try my recipe for Vietnamese crab, asparagus egg drop soup. I just haven't gotten around to posting it up yet. Hence, the next shipment. :P

I try to cook in season with whatever I find at the farmers' market. Even when I go rather crazy and splurge on stuff, I rarely spend more than $10 max.

I am so sick of the sugar snap peas. They've been in every single one of my deliveries so far from Boston Organics. I have no idea what to do with them and I can't find them on the "do not send form" to get them off my list. It's amusing in a sad, annoyed way.

You get way cooler boxes though than I do! We get these big green reusable tubs. They look like the packing boxes we used to use to move our offices between floors.
