There are a ton of ski hills around here. I never thought about trying to see if they are open for the summer. I'm a sucker for great views. I'll have to look up some local options.

When I was little, my grandmother made these date cookies that were hard to stomach as a small child. They were, well... 'icky.' I've since tried other things w/ dates in them & have enjoyed, so perhaps Grandma just wasn't a very good baker LOL!

Love your picnicking ideas :)

What a yummy spread. I never thought to make a sandwich out of nuts and fruit, but it is such a good idea. Your picnic spot is beautiful. I wish we had ski hills here in East Texas.

It all looks fantastic, Allen! We don't pack picnics often enough, but I'm going to remember this menu for the summer!

Thank you, Allen, for the vegetarian fare! I'm licking my chops already and will definitely be giving this sandwich a try. I'm thinking a bagel spread for a breakfast at the beach I'm attending with family this weekend. Yummy!

Beautiful picnic. I love the idea of dipping the chocolate in a flavoured sugar. Groose Mountain is such a nice place to enjoy your delicacies.

What an interesting picnic. Matt was asking me to make something with dates the other day so perhaps I should surprise him with these. Now as for the chocolate dipped in sugar that is over the top!
